Woodcreek whitewashes Rocklin for Section 2 Majors Title

The end was tough for the Rocklin major division All-Stars Monday night.

Running into the buzz saw slants of hurler Alex Montez, Rocklin never got untracked in the Section 2 championship game at Tahoe Tallack Little League Park and ended up being eliminated from post season competition in a lopsided 11-0 loss to Woodcreek.

The loss ended Rocklin, the District 11 champion, from advancing to the NorCal Divisional Tournament.

Woodcreek, which had lost to Rocklin on Sunday to force the if necessary championship game, now advances to Alameda where the District 54 team will draw a bye in NorCal Divisional Tournament action.

Woodcreek will meet the winner of Wednesday’s  Santa Clara-East Turlock American game Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

In tomorrow other first round game, Pleasanton American will meet Foothill of Palo Cedro which is locted in the Redding area.

Petaluma Valley, which defeated Alameda in Woodland Monday night for the Section 5 crown, drew the other first round bye and will meet the Pleasanton-Foothill winner also on Thursday.
