Weimar Goes 2-1 at DC Tournament

Weimar Hills’ boys 8th grade basketball team posted a record of 2-1 and won consolation honors at last weekend’s Del Campo Jr. High Classic in Sacramento.

The Warriors, now 11-3 on the season, opened tournament play by dropping a 54-47 game to Jonas Salk of Sacramento. Jack Baldoni poured in 15 points for the Warriors while Jordan Balser added 11 and Michael Wilson tallied 10.

Weimar Hills then bounced back with a 53-49 win over Didion of South Sacramento. Leading the scoring was Wilson with 12 markers and Chris Harshman with  nine. Balser and Baldoni both chipped in with seven points each.

In the consolation championship game, Weimar Hills tripped up Arcade of Carmichael, 37-30. Balser sank 15 points and Wilson added 10. Warriors coach Craig Balser credited a strong team defensive effort as a key to the win.
