Weston Gaddis of the Penn Valley Dodgers slides past Nevada City Giants catcher Andrew Sasaki in recent District 11 major division Little League baseball action. The Dodgers eked out an exciting 4-3 win in extra innings.
April 26, 2010 PV Dodgers Take Exciting Win The Penn Valley Dodgers' major division Little League team ran their way home in extra innings for a walk-off 4-3 win against the Nevada City Giants. The Dodgers started the scoring with Weston Gaddis opening the 1st inning with a leadoff walk and scored on a double from Owen Day. Nevada City then came back to score two in the second on a hit from Lev El- Askari and a walk to Dylan Feise. The Dodgers tied the game in third but the Giants added a go ahead run in the 4th on a single by Max Arnds and a double by El-Askari. The Dodgers scored in their home haft on a bunt single from Gaddis, an RBI single from Day and bunt single from Clayton Sorenson. No team scored until the bottom of the 7th inning. Steven “Flash” McClenthen beat out a bunt to start the action. On the next pitch he stole second base and as the ball dribbled away took off for third base. The relay throw to third was to high to handle, and he raced home ahead of the throw for the walk-off winning run. For the Dodgers, Joseph Ten Eyck went 3 innings allowing two runs with 5 strike-outs. Clayton Sorenson went two innings with one run and one strike-out. Dalton Maxwell pitched the final two innings allowing no runs with two strike-outs to get the victory.
