Franklin, FLC Win Openers; Weimar Falls

CRESCENT CITY - Franklin and Forest Lake Christian's boys 8th grade basketball teams both came up victorious in their respective Crescent City Jaycees Tournament of Champions first round games here on Friday.

Franklin of Loomis, the top-seed in the AA division, had no trouble breezing past McKinleyville, 64-31. Jahann Nargussi's 17 points, 12 from Michael Moore and 11 by Brandon Snow led the Trojans who improved their season record to 16-1.

In another AA division game, No. 3 seed Redding Christian got past No. 6 Weimar Hills, 54-34.

In a B-1 division game, Forest Lake topped Burney, 40-30.
