Rocklin Jrs. Win Again; Close to Championship Round

The Rocklin Little League Jr. division All-Star team will know when it takes the field Sunday afternoon where it stands in regards to gaining the championship elimination bracket of the Little League Western Regional Tournament.

The Rocklin team won its third straight game on Friday by besting Butte, Montana, 10-0. The win leaves Rocklin as one of two undefeated teams in the B Pool with Rancho Santa Margarita, the Southern California entry.

In the A Pool, Hilo, Hawaii has emerged with a 3-0 record. The top teams from each division advance to Monday’s semi-final round.

Rocklin will play Santa Margarita at 4 p.m. Sunday in a game which by the time its played may not have any bearing on what two teams advance from the B Pool.

In other Little League news, Pleasanton American Little League, the Northern California representative to the major division Western Regionals being played at San Bernadino, lost 2-1 to Wapio, Hawaii.

The two pitchers from Pleasanton American combined to throw a no-hitter and the Hawaii pitchers allowed just one hit.
