DO JVs, NU Frosh Seek Perfect Campaigns

The Del Oro JV and Nevada Union Frosh football teams will go in search of perfection this week when the Golden Eagles and Miners both risk perfect 9-0 records.

Jerry Van Lengen's Del Oro JV team, fresh off a big win over Rocklin last week, will travel to Oakmont on Friday night to meet the Vikings in their season finale. Del Oro has already cinched at least a share of the Sierra Foothill League's JV championship.

On Thursday night, Nevada Union's frosh team will also be seeking its 10th straight win when the Miners host Davis at 6 p.m. NU defeated Elk Grove, 34-0, last week to improve to 9-0.

Here's this week's foothillpreps.com's area grid polls:

JV

1. Del Oro (9-0) - Golden Eagle sophomores seeking 20th straight win over two years.

2. Bear River (9-0) - Depth laden Bruins will have no problem with El Dorado Friday.

3.Colfax (8-1) - Hunter Owens and Nolan Karbowski combined for 265 yards rushing in rout of Placer.

4.Nevada Union (6-3) - Slow starting Miners hitting stride.

5.Placer (7-2) - Hillmen look to finish strong at Whitney Friday.

Frosh

1.Nevada Union (9-0) - Miner Frosh program has won 19 straight.

2.Placer (8-1) - Hillmen play 8-0-1 Whitney Thursday for PVL crown.

3.Del Oro (7-2) - Golden Eagles' lone two losses are to Granite Bay.

4.Colfax (4-4) - Falcons have steadily improved from Week 1.

5.Bear River (3-5) - Bruins head to finale at El Dorado coming off win over Lincoln.
