BR Dodgers Off To 4-0 Start

Bear River's Dodgers are off to a 4-0 season start in the District 11 Little League inter-lock major division ranks and much of the reason for the team's quick getaway has been outstanding pitching.

Receiving yet another sterling mound gem last week from Caden McGowen, the Dodgers turned back the Bear River Rockies, 4-0.

The game started off with a single by the Dodgers' David O'Brien followed by several great defensive plays by both teams.

On the mound, McGowen was a standout as he fanned 15 batters and threw a no-hit, no-run game. He only came up one walk shy of a perfect game.

Providing strong defense for the winners was Dallas Penn as McGowen turned in his six-inning no-hitter on just 83 pitches.

The game was scoreless for the first three innings as Rockies pitcher Mattie Lopez also did a fine job kept the Dodgers hitting in check. The Rockies also had good defense Shorty Pitts, Bear Belding, and Jared Kilgore.

In the fourth inning walks by Quincy "Q-Ball" Schram and O 'Brien set the stage for two runs as Justus Stratton put the ball in play allowing the Dodgers to break the scoring ice.

The win moves the Dodgers on top of the Bear River standings with a 4-0record. The Dodgers have now thrown back-to-back no hitters, the first one a combined effort by 5 pitchers.

The Dodgers have now allowed just 4 runs in their 4 games, outscoring their opponents 27-4. The next game on tap for the Dodgers is after the spring break where they meet up with BR Pirates.
