Nevada Union Jr. Miners ’08 Slate Announced

Nevada Union’s Jr. Miners youth football and cheer program has announced its 2008 season schedule.

The Jr. Miners will play eight regular season games with an even split of four scheduled for home at Hooper Stadium and four slated for the road.

Competing in the Sierra Youth Football Conference’s Placer Mountain Division, the Jr. Miners will open their ’08 schedule by hosting the Oakmont Jr. Vikings of Roseville on Sat. Aug. 30.

NU will then play its first divisional game on Sept. 6 when they travel to Auburn to take on Placer’s Jr. Hillmen.

Making up the Placer Mt. Division with the Hillmen are Placer, Bear River and Lincoln.

Two new teams will be on NU’s schedule this season as the Jr. Miners host the Antelope Jr. Titans on Sept. 13 and on Sept. 20 will play at the Whitney Jr. Wildcats in Rocklin.

The Jr. Miners began practices on Aug. 4 and will be pointing to a league jamboree on Sat. Aug. 23.
