Union Hill, St. Mary’s Take Wins

Emma Peterson hit for 10 points and Katie Johnson and Lauren Mickel added eight points each to help pace Union Hill past Lyman Gilmore, 43-17 in a Nevada County Athletic League girls basketball large school game Wednesday.

Sydney Porter led Gilmore with a good all-around showing.

In 7th grade action, Union Hill also squeezed out a 20-15 win over the Bombers.

In other NCAL play, Mt. St. Mary’s rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to get past Grass Valley Charter, 27-24.

Nicole Blaney tanked 14 of her game high 18 points in the second half to fuel the comeback.

The Lady Eagles also received clutch play and key points from Julia Gallelli and Stephanie Ulatowski.
