July 16, 2008Section Four LL All-Star Tournaments OpenThe next level for area All-Star baseball teams – the Section 4 Tournament – was unattainable this season but sometimes it’s fun to keep track of how the District 11 teams fare against other districts from the Sacramento Metro area. Foothillpreps.com will try and update scores from the Section tournaments. Here’s a rundown on what’s in store: Jr. Section at Rocklin – Rocklin, which defeated Bear River’s Juniors to win the District 11 crown at Condon Park in Grass Valley, is undefeated in the Section Tournament which is being played in Rocklin. Rocklin opened with wins over Rio Linda and Fair Oaks and tonight will play El Dorado Hills South in the first championship game slated for 7 p.m. The winner of the Junior Section 4 tournament moves on to Divisional play in San Jose. Majors (11-12) at Parkway (Sacramento) – Rocklin, the District 11 champion, opens Section 4 tournament play today at 5:45 p.m. against Carmichael, the District 5 champions. Also in the tournament are Antelope (Dist. 6), Woodcreek (Dist. 54) and East Sacramento (Dist. 7). The winner moves on to Divisional tournament play in Alameda. 11-Year-Olds at Richards Field (Roseville) – Roseville West’s Richards Field, located at the rear of Roseville High School, is hosting the Section 4 Tournament.
