Bear River Giants Keeping Rolling; Win 17-2

 

Jake DePass ripped a single, double and triple and teammates Dallas Penn and Steven Ertola both checked in with run scoring triples as the Bear River Giants rolled to an easy 17-2 win over the Nevada City Giants in a District 11 interlock majors division game played Tuesday evening in Nevada City.

Racking up their 14th win of the season, the impressive victory by the Giants left assistant coach Dave Beghetti noting that the overall team performance by the Bear River squad is what the team will need in the future.

“This was a great example of a total team effort as we get ready for a TOC run,” said Beghetti.

The Giants displayed hitting throughout their line-up as Brandon Donely and Ryan Wagner both collected two RBIs each.

Meanwhile, Giants hurlers DePass and Andrew Riess teamed to halt the Nevada City team on just one-hit while combining for 11 strikeouts and just one walk.

The Giants return to Bear River Little League Complex for a 9 a.m. Saturday game with the Bear River A’s
