Bear River Too Much In Battle Of The A’s

District 11 regular season inter-lock action resumed after the Memorial Day Weekend break and Tuesday night at Grass Valley’s Condon Park in a battle of the A’s, Bear River’s major division version had a little too much firepower for their Grass Valley foes.

Receiving a solid five-inning four-hit pitching performance from Brett Solomon and big bat work via Brodie Beck, Sean Mikan and Nick O’Connor, the Bear River A’s pounded out a 12-2 win over the Grass Valley A’s.

Solomon rang up seven strikeouts in his route going effort for the winners. He also added a run-scoring hit to help his own cause.

Meanwhile, the heavy hitting was provided by O’Connor who went 2x3 with a home run and three RBIs; Mikan who added a pair of raps and three more RBIs and Beck who was a perfect 3x3.

Also getting into the act on offense for the Bear River squad were Dayton Anderson who clouted a triple in a 2x3 showing and drove in three runs and Hunter Cramer who was 2x3 with a pair of RBIs.

The defense also shined for the A’s as the glove wfforts of infielders Anderson, Cramer and Hayden Taylor along with outfielder Trevor Bisagno teamed to keep the Grass Valley club in check.

The Bear River A’s return home to host the Nevada City Indians tonight at 7:30 p.m.
