Coldwell Banker A’s Take BRLL Minor Division Showdown

Divisional frontrunners squared off Tuesday evening for Bear River Little League minor division leadership and when the dust had settled the Debbie Krogman Coldwell Banker A’s had clipped the Sierra Electric Dodgers, 7-1.

In a contest in which both teams entered with identical second half records of 7-1, the A’s used strong pitching and timely hitting to lay down the foundation for the victory.

With the victory, the A’s finish the regular season on top of the standings and will take a No. 1 seed with them into the BRLL’s minor division post season tournament which gets underway on Saturday.

Getting back to Tuesday’s key game, A’s hurlers David O’Brien and Justin Leonard teamed up to provide the winners with a yeoman’s effort on the hill.

O’Brien tossed four and two-thirds innings and allowed just one run while Leonard mopped up with scoreless relief work.

O’Brien with a pair of hits and Leonard with a RBI triple also supplied key offense for the A’s.

A’s manager Brian O’Brien noted that the win was nice but that the upcoming tournament will be competitive.
