Top-ranked teams risk perfect marks

Something will have to give at the top of the foohillpreps.com’s JV football ratings this Friday as three undefeated teams put their perfect marks on the line against quality opponents.

No. 1 ranked Del Oro, fresh off of a big 23-8 Sierra Foothill League opening win over Granite Bay, will have no time to rest as they host an undefeated Roseville squad in Loomis Friday.

Del Oro coach Jerry Van Lengen, who has seen his team get off to a perfect 6-0 start, noted that, “Roseville will be the best team we’ve seen this year.”

Meanwhile, at Lake of the Pines, No. 2 ranked Bear River (6-0) hosts Placer (6-0). Both teams are 2-0 in the Pioneer Valley League JV race and will be trying to move into a tie with first place standing Lincoln (3-0) who plays Marysville in a non-league test.

1.Del Oro (6-0) – Eagle quarterback Bobby Heatherington has thrown for seven touchdown passes in last three games.

2. Bear River  (6-0) – Bruins will face big PVL test in Hillmen.

3.Placer (6-0) – Hillmen lying in wait with Bear River, Colfax and Lincoln still ahead.

4.Colfax (5-1) – Falcons trying to stay within reach of PVL unbeatens.

5.Nevada Union (4-2) – Miners erupted last week for 69 points.

Frosh

Nevada Union (6-0) – Miners can’t let down at Franklin.

2.Placer (5-1) – Hillmen look to regroup at Bear River.

3. Del Oro (4-2) – Eagles smarting from 35-7 drubbing at hands of GB.

4.Colfax (3-3) – Austin Perry gave Falcons’ offense boost last week.

5. Bear River (1-4) – Bruins trying to get healthy.
